Starting in WebSphere

To start eva/3 Application Builder in WebSphere there must be some changes made in the WebSphere directory:

First the file eva3.zip should be extracted into the WebSphere directory ..\IBM\Websphere Studio\Application Developer\v5.1. The eva/3 Application Builder plugins will be extracted into the subdirectory \eclipse.

The next step is to rename the folder ..\IBM\Websphere Studio\Application Developer\v5.1\_jvm. The contents is no longer needed.

The file ..\IBM\Websphere Studio\Application Developer\v5.1\wsappdev.ini should be opened in an editor and the line containing the entry VMArgs=-Xj9 gets a leading comment character #. The entry VMArgs=-Xj9 is to be inserted into the next new line.

After the first start of WebSphere, a dialog appears. After approving this dialog, WebSphere starts again. Now eva/3 Application Builder is ready for use.
